In the upcoming weeks ahead of the Xbox One launch, we can expect Microsoft to release a media-onslaught of advertisements to promote the new console to help raise awareness of its latest entertainment device. This morning, Microsoft released another such video that highlights the gaming and multi-tasking capabilities of the machine.
The purpose of the video is likely to show that the Xbox One can do many things, besides gaming. The clip highlights the fact that voice commands can be used in many different ways to share content, navigate the UI, search and more.
While we know that advertisements are designed to show the best-case scenario, it’s hard to ignore how fast the switching between games, a Skype call and watching TV occurs in the spot. All of the transitions were nearly instant and if this holds true in the real world, it could be a big hit and set consumer expectations high for what modern computing should feel like.
We won’t have to wait long for the Xbox One to arrive; it will be released on November 22nd with a starting price of $499.
