Xbox players will soon be able to link their profiles with Discord, share what they are playing

Microsoft today announced a collaboration with Discord that will allow gamers to link their Xbox and Discord profiles.

The integration will allow players to display whatever they are playing on the Xbox Live platform on their Discord profile. Additionally, linking the two accounts will allow you to sync the Xbox Live friends list, meaning that Discord will automatically find your Xbox friends on its platform and provide you with an option to add them.

Xbox Insiders will get to experience this integration soon, with an option to link a Discord profile appearing on their Xbox One consoles. As for when this integration will be available to the general Xbox community, the timeline remains the same: soon.

It’s not clear when the option will arrive on the Discord app on desktop or mobile, though.

Discord announced in December last year that it would be putting its focus on expanding its Rich Presence feature set for the year of 2018. So far, the company seems to be on track; in February, Spotify saw integration within the client, allowing users to display – in real-time – what music they were listening to on the music streaming platform, among other things.
