Xbox Series S press briefing that never happened now leaked

After leaks started pouring in about the 2020 Xbox gaming consoles, Microsoft had no option but to confirm the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X specifications, pricing and availability details. This was followed by several other related announcements, including EA Play joining Game Pass subscription, Xbox All Access expansion to other regions, and the partnership with Taco Bell that involves a Series X giveaway.

Microsoft"s original plan was to follow the traditional approach and hold a press briefing (virtual, because of the Coronavirus pandemic) to make all these announcements to the world. But since that didn"t happen, one can safely assume it was canceled, possibly because all the major announcements were public knowledge by then.

Those supposed briefings have now been leaked on Twitter by @_h0x0d_.

The entire pre-recorded event is divided into four parts, and each of those are available to watch in full. Instead of a presenter on stage explaining away the features, the briefing is scripted in an interview format. All the leaked announcements during the past week are part of this event, but a considerably less time is dedicated to their "smallest Xbox ever" and the unexpected collaboration with Electronic Arts.

Even though the names of both the new consoles is now pretty straightforward, speaking them out loud and not getting confused between the two is a challenge. Several times the speaker is seen articulating the "S" and "X" in the names, thus bringing unintentional humor into the mix.

For the uninitiated, the Xbox Series S promises 1440p gaming at up to 120fps, while the Xbox Series X offers true 4K gaming and comes with a disc drive. Both the variants come with ray tracing support and Microsoft Smart Delivery feature.
