After a year of teasers, Microsoft finally lifted the curtains off their much-awaited gaming consoles of the year when they announced the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X, along with their U.S. pricing, pre-order, and availability details. The Xbox India team took to their Facebook page to announce India specific details about the consoles, including the prices.
The Xbox Series S, which is being touted as "the smallest Xbox ever", will be available for ₹34,990 (approximately $480) in India. The console promises 1440p gaming at up to 120 fps.
The flagship Xbox Series X will be available at a price of ₹49,990 (approximately $680) in the Indian market. It offers true 4K gaming and comes with a disc drive.
Both the variants come with ray tracing support. They also boast of Microsoft"s new Smart Delivery, which delivers a version of the game that is best suited for the console. This essentially means that if a user purchases a game for their Xbox One, but later upgrade to any of the new devices, they will automatically get the game version best suited to it.
The $180 difference when compared to the US prices is expected, owing to heavy import duties on electronics in the country. The pre-order and launch dates are the same though, which is September 22 and November 10, respectively.
