This week, Microsoft finally broke its silence on the Xbox Series S, and it revealed that it - alongside the Xbox Series X - will launch on November 10, with preorders starting September 22. If you"re planning to buy the console in stores when it launches, Canadian retailer La Source has now revealed what the Xbox Series X retail packaging will look like, as spotted by Twitter user Wario64.
There"s nothing all too shocking about the box"s design, whose face zooms in heavily on the venting on the top side of the console. The console also highlights the 1TB SSD inside the console, the Xbox Velocity Architecture, and support for 4K and 120 frames per second. The listing on the retailer also includes a handful of pictures of the console and controller, so you can see what the underside of the console looks like, sporting additional vents and a ring to raise the console"s body.
As of right now, there isn"t a similar listing on the retailer"s website for the Xbox Series S, so we don"t know what that box will look like. It stands to reason that it follows a similar style, though.
Both consoles will go on sale on November 10, with the Xbox Series X costing $499, promising support for 4K and 120 frames per second, 1TB of storage, and faster RAM. The Xbox Series S still offers plenty of power, with support for 120 frames per second at 1440p resolution, a smaller but equally fast SSD, but a slower processor and RAM. It will cost just $299.
