Xiaomi has finally brought its laptops to India. To foray into this category, the company has launched two laptops – Mi NoteBook and Mi NoteBook Horizon Edition – in the country.
The Mi NoteBook sports a metal body built with a magnesium-aluminum alloy. It packs in a 14-inch "Horizon Display" with thin 3mm bezels on three sides and offers a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. There’s also an anti-glare coating on the display.
The thin bezels mean that the laptop doesn"t have an integrated webcam which is awkward in these times of remote working and online learning. Although, Xiaomi bundles its Mi Webcam HD with the laptop.
The Mi NoteBook comes with some nifty additions from Xiaomi like the Mi Smart Share that allows you to easily share files between your Xiaomi smartphone and the laptop as well as Mi Blaze Unlock that helps your Mi Band unlock the laptop within 1.2 seconds. These would help Xiaomi pitch its ecosystem play to laptop buyers.

Xiaomi entered the Indian market in 2014 with smartphones and has since expanded into accessories and smart home products and appliances, as well as a mix of lifestyle products.
The company has entered the PC market now – a category that the company hasn’t really taken outside its home market of China till now. Incumbents like HP, Dell, and Lenovo would expectedly closely watch Xiaomi’s steps into this category as the company has disrupted the smartphones and smart TV market in India in the past.
