Xiaomi, the Chinese technology giant, has announced the new Mi Gaming Laptop which is described as eSports grade by the firm. Xiaomi boasted on stage that the laptop is simple and discreet on the outside but when you open it up, things get “wild”. The keyboard features a multi-coloured backlight, as well as five programmable keys. As the laptop is designed for gaming, Xiaomi has built in a cooling feature which can be enabled at the push of a button.
The laptop comes in two variants, one more advanced, and the other entry level. The more advanced laptop comes in at 8,999 yuan or $1,440, and includes the following specifications:
- NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060
- 16GB RAM
- 7th-gen Intel Core i7 processor
- 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, expandable SSD
- High-power cooling system, hotkey turbo cooling
- 15.6” wide-colour gamut ultra-thin bezels
- Dolby Sound and Sony Hi-Res certified audio
- Professional gaming keyboard, 30 n-key rollover
- 16-million colour four-zone keyboard, 5 macro keys
- 10 interface ports, logically and efficiently designed
The entry-level model costs 5,999 yuan or $960. It is different to the model above with respect to the following:
- NVIDIA GeForce GTC 1050 Ti
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
The Mi Gaming Laptop will be available in China beginning April 13.
