Xiaomi already offers two lineups of large screen smartphones, but it seems the company intends to launch a larger device in the near future as it has now posted a teaser of an alleged 6.4-inch device.
Mi Max, as the device is being referred to, is expected to be a mid-range phablet but there is no official word about its specifications yet although some of them have now leaked. The post over at the MIUI Forums has revealed that the Mi Max will be a completely new product line and won"t feature the current screen sizes.
Earlier rumours have suggested that the device would be a 6.4-inch one. The teaser does mention that the device would fit in a jeans pocket, so it will be interesting to see whether the claim is true.
The smartphone"s specifications leaked by its GFXBench listing are as follows:
- MIUI based on Android 6.0.1
- 6.4-inch screen with 1080p resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz
- Adreno 510 GPU
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal storage
- 16 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera
Xiaomi could price its upcoming smartphone between the currently available phablets, which include the low cost Redmi Note and the premium Mi Note. The launch date of the device is set for the 10th of May and more teasers could be expected from the company as it generally prefers to create buzz prior to device launches.
