Xiaomi still unlikely to bring its devices to US or EU any time soon

Xiaomi has been pumping out smartphones for the past several years but it"s only recently that some of its offerings have been truly enticing. Sadly, with Xiaomi, there is always a disclaimer, in that it will most likely never arrive in your region and if you want one, you"ll have to procure it through a gray market third party dealer. While there are some glimmers of hope, the pursuit to debut its devices in regions outside of Asia is sluggish at best.

According to a recent interview with the company"s global VP, Senior Vice President Wang Xiang, who took over the role from Hugo Barra, the executive was reluctant to give a timeframe of when we could expect to see Xiaomi in the US or EU. Although the firm does feel bad about not being able to service other countries, its resources currently are already being spread thin as is. Sure, the firm could clearly go the route of OnePlus, Huawei, or Honor, by offering unlocked handsets directly. That said, it doesn"t want to risk the relationships with carriers that have been cultivated over the past several years.
