Things tend to wind down towards the end of the year, but late last month Xiaomi surprised the world by announcing its concept handset, the Mi MIX. What made the Mi MIX special was not only its unique bezel-less design but that it was actually made available for sale to the general public. Needless to say, the public found it intriguing with the handset selling out in a mere ten seconds. While there could be a smaller version on the way, it appears that an unreleased color variant of the current version has made its way online.
While it is unclear when or even if this handset will arrive, the leaked image above shows a different white color variant of the model that is currently being sold. Although it is hard to tell, the image does show a handset that has a glossy shine, indicating that it could be built using the same ceramic material. The white version is most likely a 4GB model as it lacks the 18K gold that surrounds the camera lens and fingerprint sensor on the higher 6GB model.
Currently, the Mi MIX in black is sold out from the official website, with many third party channels showing availability for pre-orders. If you"re thinking about picking one up, know that the chassis is fairly resilient to everyday wear, but the Mi MIX"s most coveted feature is also its weakest point.
