Xiaomi's Mi MIX 2 could ship with Snapdragon 836, 4,400mAh battery, and Android 8.0 Oreo

It has been close to a year since Xiaomi debuted its near bezel-less handset, the Mi MIX. At the time, the device made quite a splash, being announced as a concept of what the firm could achieve, but also being made available for purchase only a couple weeks later. While its display was certainly impressive in 2016, this year, the competition has caught up, with the likes of Samsung and LG offering their own interpretation of the technology.

As we wait for Xiaomi to hold its event in a couple weeks, it appears that new information has arrived, showing off the alleged specifications of the handset. If the data is to be believed, the Mi MIX 2 will arrive with a 6.2-inch 2960 x 1440 display and the unannounced but heavily rumored Snapdragon 836 processor. Perhaps the more interesting aspect of the smartphone is that it will pack a 4,400mAh battery, 256GB internal storage, and will arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo.

While the specifications are certainly impressive, one has to wonder at what price it will arrive in retail channels. Luckily, we won"t have to wait long as Xiaomi is set to announce the Mi MIX 2 on September 11.
