It has been a little over a month since the release of Xiaomi"s Mi MIX 2. While the handset offers a stunning near bezel-less design like its predecessor, it received a boost in its specifications that would make it a viable contender in the highly competitive smartphone market, going up against the likes of Samsung and LG. Although it was previously available only in China, during a press conference in New Delhi, the firm announced that it would launch the Mi MIX 2 in India.
As a refresher, the Mi MIX 2 has a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with a 1080x2160 resolution. At its core will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM. The model sold in India will come with 128GB of internal storage. As for its camera, the handset offers a single 12MP sensor on the rear and a 5MP shooter on the front; all of this will be powered by a 3,400mAh battery.
The Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, stated:
"With Mi MIX, we gave everyone a glimpse of what the phone of the future would look like. Mi MIX 2 has evolved from a conceptual design into a user-friendly phone catered to a wider consumer audience while retaining the wow factor. We are so proud to have brought Mi MIX 2 for our fans in India within a month of our global launch, and I am sure everyone will love how immersive the experience is."
The Mi MIX 2 will arrive in retail priced at ₹35,999 or around US$550. Those interested can find the handset on Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home retail locations in the first week of November. Those looking to get it sooner will want to take advantage of the preview sale that will occur on Mi.com and Flipkart on October 17.
