Microsoft unveiled Yammer"s new design late last year, showing off its integration with Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. Today, the service"s fresh makeover is generally available to everyone worldwide.
Yammer is introducing a bevy of new capabilities for both mobile and desktop. On smartphones, the service is adding a dark mode on Android and iOS. It"s also rolling out video sharing to let you record and edit videos up to three minutes long. In addition, the tool is adding featured conversations to highlight important messages in the Home feed, making these more visible to the community. Yammer is also getting support for external guests in communities to let members add people from outside their organization through Azure B2B.
If you"re a Microsoft 365 Global Admin, you can use the Yammer admin portal to configure access to the service"s new design. There"s also an option to keep the classic look the default experience for the organization.
Yammer"s integration with Outlook is also available from today, after its announcement in May. This allows you to view a conversation and reply to it without switching apps. Additionally, a new Yammer web part goes live for SharePoint Online. Earlier today, Microsoft announced the integration of Yammer Communities with Teams.
