Yandex.Browser is a simple and easy-to-use internet browser. The minimalist design allows you to focus on more important things. Its clutter-free interface gives you plenty of space for viewing webpages. Webpages load rapidly even with low connection speeds.
The Yandex browser uses the WebKit engine, popular with a large number of web developers. The browser"s user interface is based on the open-source Chromium code. The Yandex browser platform has, through a technological partnership with a key long term partner, been expanded to incorporate Opera Software"s Turbo technology, which allows to boost the browser"s page loading capacity even with a slow connection.
Turbo mode
Turbo mode will turn on automatically if your internet connection speed drops. Webpages open faster thanks to data compression technology, saving you both time and traffic. Loading speed is increased by reducing the amount of data to transfer. Page content is first compressed on Yandex servers before sending it to your browser. “Heavy” page elements (such as multimedia) are blocked and are not loaded at all. By default, automatic activation of Turbo mode is enabled in the browser settings. Turbo mode is activated if the download speed is less than 128 Kbit/s. When activated, the Turbo icon is displayed at the end of the address bar. When the speed reaches 512 Kbit/s or higher, Turbo mode is turned off and the icon disappears.
Virus protection
Yandex" own system scans millions of websites every day. Yandex.Browser will warn you if you try to visit a harmful site. Every file you download will also be scanned for viruses by Kaspersky. The company"s cloud-based safe browsing technology, together with Kaspersky Lab"s security solution, enhances the browser"s safety by warning the users about potentially malicious websites.
