The YotaPhone 2 is undoubtedly one of the more unique Android handsets created to date. For those unfamiliar, the handset offers two displays: a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display on the front and a e-ink touchscreen on the rear. Now, it looks as though ZTE will partner with YotaPhone to bring the next iteration, the YotaPhone 3.
According to OANA, a new deal has been struck between ZTE and YotaPhone to produce the YotaPhone 3. While full details of the deal have not been disclosed, the partnership should help YotaPhone distribute and manufacturer their devices more efficiently. It is reported that by partnering with ZTE, YotaPhone will reduce the production cost of their next handset by nearly 30%.
Although an exact date has not been established, the YotaPhone 3 will be available sometime in Q1 of 2016. If this launch time frame is accurate, it would make CES 2016 a perfect platform for ZTE and YotaPhone to launch the new handset.
