The LG G6 launched a few months ago and if you currently own one, you"ll be happy to know that there is now a way to get the earpiece on the front to act as a speaker. Although this might sound like a strange thing, it can actually be found by default on some handsets from a variety of different manufacturers, with examples being Motorola and Huawei.
Naturally, this isn"t as simple as running a new update from LG and does require a little elbow grease. Just to be clear, this is not something that has been officially released by LG and enabling it could damage your phone, so proceed with caution. If you choose to perform this mod, you"ll need to have your handset rooted and follow the directions below:
Steps:
1: Using a root file manager, go to system/etc and rename mixer_paths_tasha.xml to mixer_paths_tasha.xml.bak
2: Download my mixer_paths_tasha.xml
3: Paste my mixer_paths_tasha. xml into system/etc and check all the permission boxes
You can find the download to the file at the XDA Developers source link down below. If all goes to plan, you will have configured the front earpiece to now act as a speaker. This will obviously get you more sound when playing music or any type of audio, but it will now fire from two different channels, and providing "a much better audio experience".
