Amazon"s Prime Day is a great opportunity to get some pretty significant savings on a wide range of products, but Microsoft has its own deals for customers during the next couple of days. Starting today, and until July 17 at 11:59pm Pacific Time, you can get a Surface Dock when you buy a Surface Book 2 or Laptop through the Store online.
The Surface Dock usually runs for $199.99, so this is a pretty good deal if you"ve been waiting for the chance to grab a Surface but feel like you could use the extra ports. The dock connects to your device through the Surface connector, and gets you an additional four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, two Mini DisplayPorts, an Ethernet port and one audio output. You can also use it with any other Surface device that uses Microsoft"s proprietary connectors, including the upcoming Surface Go.
The Surface Laptop starts at $799 for the model with an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and it doesn"t have a whole lot of ports, so the dock might be especially useful if you want to get it. The Surface Book 2 has a healthier supply of ports, including one USB Type-C connector, and it starts at $1,199 for the Core i5 model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You"ll need to add the Surface Dock to your purchase during the checkout process in order to get it for free.
Does this deal make you consider either of these computers? Let us know if you"re planning to get one!
