The cost of Windows devices has been plummeting in recent months, and buyers in the United Kingdom have been no strangers to this. For example, Microsoft"s most affordable Windows Phone, the Lumia 530, has dropped in price from its original £60 to just £49.95 off-contract, and recent promotions have seen this price fall even further.
HP is sharing the love with bargain hunters in the UK today, with a one-day-only event in which it is offering 15% off everything in its store. That means that if you wanted to treat yourself, you could save almost £200 on a top-of-the-range £1300 HP ENVY Phoenix 810 PC with quad-core Intel Core i7-4790, 16GB RAM, 3TB HDD and 256GB SSD.
But if you"re on a slightly tighter budget, some of HP"s lower-end offerings look even more appealing with 15% off.
The HP Stream 11, for example - which Microsoft recently began promoting in the US - usually costs £179 in the UK. The notebook features an 11.6-inch display with 1366x768px resolution, Intel N2840 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, SD reader and a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription (worth £59.99), which includes unlimited OneDrive online storage.
With the 15% discount, the price of the Stream 11 drops to just over £152 - and that"s a pretty tempting price for the HP notebook, especially with the Office sub bundled as part of the deal. Indeed, at that price, it may be the most affordable new Windows notebook available in the UK - we certainly can"t think of any other Windows 8.1 laptops on sale for so little money, and there aren"t many Chromebooks close to that price range either.
Still, if that"s not your cup of tea, there"s plenty of other stuff that may interest you on HP"s site, and if you do choose to buy something, all you need to do is enter the e-voucher code "MEGA15" at checkout. Just remember that the 15%-off promotion is available today only, so don"t spend too long thinking about it.
