You can now get an unlocked BlackBerry Priv for just $289.99

At last week"s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, TCL unveiled its new premium BlackBerry handset, the KEYone. The Android 7.1 device will have a Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage, along with a physical QWERTY keyboard, fixed in place below its high-definition 4.5-inch display.

The KEYone will cost $549, but if you"re thinking of buying that device, you might want to consider a more affordable alternative instead. The BlackBerry Priv, the company"s flagship-class Android handset that it released at the end of 2015, is now available for a good deal less than full price.

Unlike the KEYone, the Priv has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that stows away behind the device"s 5.4-inch Quad HD display. BlackBerry itself is now selling the Priv for $499, but you can currently get a new unlocked Priv, in full retail packaging and with all accessories included, for $289.99 via DailySteals.com. That price applies specifically to the GSM model, which isn"t compatible with networks such as Verizon and Sprint.

The Priv"s key specs include:

  • Dual-curved 5.4-inch AMOLED with Quad HD (2560x1440px) resolution
  • Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB onboard storage (plus microSD card support up to 200GB)
  • 18MP rear camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording at 30fps
  • 2MP front-facing camera with 720p video capture
  • Slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard with capacitive touch
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • NFC
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • Non-removable 3410mAh battery
  • 147 x 77.2 x 9.4mm; 192g
