You can now get Microsoft's Lumia 640 for £99.99 SIM-free in the UK

Microsoft"s Lumia 640 was one of our favourite devices of 2015, and with good reason. It offers a compelling blend of solid performance, along with an impressive HD display, a decent camera and a pretty low price tag too - all of which ensured that it scored highly in our detailed review.

Now, the Lumia 640 has become a bit more affordable in the UK. The device has been sold by various major retailers for around £120 SIM-free for several months, but you can now buy it on Amazon for as little as £99.99.

Only the black version of the handset is available at that price on Amazon; the orange model is being sold for £113.65. The Lumia 640 does have a removable rear cover, though, so you can purchase other colours if you fancy mixing things up a bit.

Other UK retailers, such as Carphone Warehouse and Mobile Phones Direct, are continuing to sell the device SIM-free for £120.

It"s worth noting that - unlike many older Windows Phones - the Lumia 640 is eligible to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.
