Zoom announced in August that its videoconferencing service was coming to smart displays like Facebook Portal and Google"s Nest Hub Max later this year. Now, Google is rolling out support for Zoom on the Nest Hub Max as an early preview.
The integration is now live for Zoom users in the U.S., UK, Canada, and Australia. Since this is an early preview release, users will need to opt in to the program in order to update their smart displays with the latest firmware version prior to its wider availability.
To start making Zoom calls, you will have to create a Zoom account (free or paid version), if you haven"t yet, and then link it to your Google account. After that, you can create a Zoom meeting ID and add the invite to Google Calendar in order to host a meeting. To ensure an uninterrupted video calling, Google Wifi and Nest Wifi have also added a new feature that auto-detects and prioritizes videoconferencing on Google Meet and Zoom meetings.
Zoom"s arrival on the Nest Hub Max comes after its rollout on Facebookâs Portal line of devices in October. Zoom is also set to come to the Amazon Echo Show later this year, but there"s no firm date for that as of this time.
