You can pre-order the LG G8 ThinQ starting tomorrow starting at $819.99

LG officially unveiled the LG G8 ThinQ and V50 ThinQ ahead of Mobile World Congress earlier this year, but it wasn"t immediately clear when either phone would be available. While those in Korea have been able to pre-order the new G8 ThinQ for some time now, only today did the company announce availability for the United States.

The LG G8 ThinQ will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, March 29, and it"ll be available through retailers and carriers including AT&T, Best Buy, B&H, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. It won"t necessarily be available from every retailer at the same time, though. The phone will start at $819.99, which puts it somewhere between Samsung"s Galaxy S10e and S10, but there will be some discounts at launch depending on where you buy it.

If you followed our MWC 2019 coverage, you"ll know that we weren"t particularly impressed by LG"s offering this year. The Air Motion gestures didn"t truly offer a more convenient way to interact with the phone and seemed more like a gimmick than anything else. Nonetheless, it has most of the specs you"d expect from a flagship phone:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
  • 6.1-inch 19.5:9, QHD+ OLED FullVision display
  • 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage
  • Dual-rear camera: Standard 12MP, f/1.5; Wide-angle 16MP, f/1.9
    Front camera: Standard 8MP, f/1.7; Z Camera (time-of-flight)
  • 3,500 mAh battery
  • Fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and Hand ID biometrics
  • Boombox speaker, Crystal Sound OLED, 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC

If you"re interested in LG"s latest flagship, you can check it out at the company"s website. Otherwise, you can always hold out for the 5G-enabled V50 ThinQ. Or check our review of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ if that"s more interesting to you.
