You can soon experience the metaverse in Meta's upcoming physical retail store

Meta is all set to open its first physical retail store on May 9, 2022. The store will open in Meta"s campus in Burlingame, California. Customers will be able to get hands-on experience with all of Meta"s hardware products in this store.

Some of the products that Meta will showcase include video calls using Portal, Ray-Ban Stories and, of course, Meta Quest. The store will also feature and interacting Quest 2 display wall that will allow people to explore the hardware. Users can try VR games like Beat Saber, GOLF+, Real VR Fishing or Supernatural on a large, wall-to-wall curved LED screen in an immersive Quest 2 demo area which will replicate what they will be seeing with the headset.

Martin Gilliard, Head of Meta Store, said:

“The Meta Store is going to help people make that connection to how our products can be the gateway to the metaverse in the future. We’re not selling the metaverse in our store, but hopefully people will come in and walk out knowing a little bit more about how our products will help connect them to it.”

Meta says that its goal is to show people the things that are possible with its products today, and to give them a glimpse into the future. The company also aims to demystify the concept of metaverse to the general public with this experience as well.

The Meta Store will be open starting May 9, Monday through Friday from 11AM to 6PM PT. Customers will be able to purchase Quest 2, Quest 2 accessories, and Portal devices from the store. For those interested in purchasing Ray-Ban Stories, a retail associate will help customers order them directly from Ray-Ban.com.
