Yesterday, Apple launched its highly anticipated streaming service "Apple Music" and its global live radio, "Beats 1". While Apple Music is currently limited to iOS devices and computers that support iTunes, it looks like a developer has found a way to stream the service without either of the previous requirements being fulfilled.
Benjamin Rumble was able to find an unencrypted stream of the Beats 1 broadcast and has linked it to his personal website. Since this is an unofficial means to stream the programming, the links could break at any moment or Apple could prevent the stream at some point in the future. Rumble has reported on his site that the stream currently will only work on iOS 6.0 and above, Android 4.1 and higher and on Safari for OS X. Interestingly, this Reddit thread also has links and sources to the stream that broaden the type of devices that it can be played on.
Naturally, we at Neowin don"t condone pirated materials. Apple Music and Beats 1 is now available for iOS devices and via PC, with an app for Android slated to arrive at a later date.
