Listings of the MSI SUPRIM X model of the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti have started to go up. And while that may be a bit of exciting news for those looking forward to its launch, the prices for which these cards are being put up may certainly raise some eyebrows.
The SUPRIM X 3090 Ti has been listed on two Japanese retailer shops (spotted by momomo_us on Twitter) and one of these shops called Nanos has the card up for 633,773 Yen (image below on the left) which is more than US$5,500 when converted. The other store where the same card has been listed is Rakuten and it is also for the exact same price of 633,733 Yen (image below on right).
Of course, it is possible that this is simply a placeholder price as the card is under the "Back-order" section which simply means out of stock. Still, such a high price even as a placeholder may be indicating that the card isn"t going to come in cheap, something which is hardly surprising given the current state of the market.
As an earlier report had suggested, Nvidia seems to have certainly stopped, or at the very least, delayed the production and distribution of the RTX 3090 Ti since the company had earlier hinted at CES 2022 that it was going to reveal more about it towards the end of January. That evidently didn"t happen.
Enthusiast variants like the EVGA Kingpin could be really going overboard with the bells and whistles that come with it as the card is rumored to feature dual 12-pin power connectors for an insane 1275W power headroom.
