At its E3 event today, Sony has unveiled LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which, as the name implies, will be based upon the seventh film in the popular franchise. The announce trailer shows off many characters, funny cut-scenes and epic combat. Initially, Star Wars fans will finally be able to fly the Millennium Falcon for the first time in the history of the franchise.
The PlayStation Blog states:
The Niima Outpost Demo lets players relive the escape from Jakku as Rey, Finn and BB-8, showcasing all of their abilities, special combat moves, and cool weapons. It’s great watching BB-8 (literally) bowl his way through a group of First Order Stormtroopers that stand in your way.
You’ll also get to experience one of the newest features in the game, engaging in intense Blaster Battles as Finn and Rey are pinned down by First Order troopers., this really lets you experience the feel of blaster combat within the Star Wars galaxy, ducking behind cover, striking back when the time is right and using character abilities to drive back the First Order. BB-8 might even have to lend a helping hand too… or a “magnetic-tipped bolt-spinner” to be precise.
The family-friendly game will follow the same gameplay style characteristic of previous LEGO games such as Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Indiana Jones and more, with emphasis on comedic cut-scenes, hilarious combat and crafting.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be making its way to the PC, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and the Wii U on June 28 this year. However, PlayStation 4 owners can download the Niima Outpost demo from the Store today.
