YouTube adds a 'Dark Mode' with latest iOS app update

When enjoying content on their handsets, some prefer to watch with exaggerated colors and cranked up to maximum brightness. There"s absolutely nothing wrong with this, but sometimes, you just want to relax and tone things down a bit, making things easier on the eyes. Those that enjoy YouTube will be happy to know that Google has recently updated its app for iOS, with the option of a Dark Mode.

The change was found and posted to Reddit, and although it applies to the official app, not everyone is seeing the option just yet. Some have speculated that the feature is being enabled server side and that it might take some time to roll out to all users. Regardless, it is good to know that soon enough, you"ll be able to toggle the app to have a more muted look, instead of its usual bright white theme.

If you"re interested, be sure to update your version of the YouTube app on iOS to the latest. If the Dark Mode is available, you can click on your profile to enter the settings menu, and there should be a toggle, similar to what you see in the image above. Again, this update could be rolling out in waves, so don"t be frustrated if you aren"t seeing it yet.
