Google has started rolling out a new Explore tab in YouTube Music for improved music discovery. Explore replaces the Hotlist tab which provided a list of the trending video content on the service. For a music streaming service, the new Explore tab makes more sense as it would allow subscribers to find new albums and single releases easily.
The Explore tab is divided into two sections: New releases and Moods & genres. The former will show a list of all the new albums and singles released recently, while the latter will help you find the perfect playlist depending on the genre of your choice and your mood.
The new Explore tab in YouTube Music is already rolling out to iPhone and Android users, with the tab also coming to YouTube Music on the web later on. Make sure to update the YouTube Music app on your device to get the Explore tab if you have not already done so.
YouTube Music has received a lot of new features lately including lyrics integration, redesigned playback screen, local music upload, and more.
Do you use YouTube Music? Or do you prefer Spotify instead?
