YouTube TV now lets customers pause their subscription

If you"ve ever been in a situation where, for some reason, you couldn"t make use of your streaming service subscription for an extended period of time, YouTube TV"s new feature might be good news for you. According to the service"s help page, customers can now pause their subscription at any time and resume it later when they"re ready to use it again.

Subscriptions can be paused for any period of time between four weeks and six months, during which customers will no longer be billed for it. To do so, simply head to your membership settings on YouTube TV, and choose "Pause membership" under "Deactivate membership".

The biggest advantage of being able to pause the subscription is that all of the recordings you may have will remain stored and waiting for you when you come back, which isn"t the case if you were to cancel your subscription and resume it. YouTube joins the likes of Hulu as one of the very few services of its kind to offer the ability to pause a subscription.

YouTube TV was launched early last year, and it offers content from over 60 TV networks, including ABC, FX, ESPN, and more. As it"s been expanding its offerings, its price rose to $40 per month earlier this year to compensate for the additional content. If the new addition makes it more tempting for you, you can visit the official website to try it out. Apps are also available for a number of devices, including Roku and Apple TV.
