gandolas
We are almost ready to release a test version to public, but we'll need a host. If you have Windows XP x64 installed and want to test it, please do. And please, go to \tools folder, use the AutoPatcherDDK.exe file, and post here a rtf file with the details that appear in the tool (do a simple copy-paste). Please post all the bugs/problems that you find. akaladis Veteran Posted December 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted December 29, 2005 Just to clear up some things. The DDK (developer diagnostics kit) is used to extract some information on how AutoPatcher detected your operating system, its components and office applications, along with some info about commandline and variables. It helps us spot errors in the environment detection engine. The information provided by the DDK is in rich text format, so you can simple select-all (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C) and paste into a new file in wordpad (this will keep the format intact). gandolas
Anyone that can host it, please PM me with the details. I think it's not going to consume many GB, since it's a Beta for x64 versions, and i think there won't be many people interessed in downloading it... akaladis Veteran Posted December 30, 2005 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2005 To those of you who like AutoPatcher and are lucky enough to own 64bit hardware: Please report any errors or successful installations. This release is based on a beta build of AutoPatcher 6.0, so we need to know how well it works so far. gandolas
^ That WMP cannot be installed in Windows XP x64, only in Windows XP 32 bits. There are only updates to WMP 10, not a full package. FnF
Installing now, what I'm missing in this new interface? The option to (de-)select all Critical, Non-Critical, Addons etc, not only the option to select everything, or only the Critical's, but just for every submenu the option to select all, since I want Critical and Non-Critical updates, and its not really a nice work to select all the updates  And I noticed that the Reboot Now button isn't working, I can press it 1000 times, but it just fails to work. After the installation the PC isn't rebooting as well, I needed to do everything manually. And after a restart, all Critical updates aren't installed (And some non-critical updates as well), rerunning installation now, will update when installation is finished and pc is restarted. Restarted PC, still not everything is installed, and I got an Registery error while booting in Windows. Rerunning installation now to see if the rest has been installed. There are still three remaining updates: KB890830, KB900725 and KB905915. They don't want to install, retried it now three times, they won't install... FnF
^ Do you have any other character in your profile besides numbers and letters ($, %, &, ?, etc..)? No, profile is just like my nickname, FnF :) The PC name is FNF as well, so that shouldn't be the problem... CarlosB
Hello. Im also having the same problems the select all buttons do not work. The reboot in 30 seconds doesn't actually reboot my pc nor does the button work. They install but on reboot some say they still haven't been installed. The microsoft Activesync installs but when I run Autopatcher it says its not been installed. I also don't use any unusual characters in my profile. Other than that. Its a greta looking program! :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/412735-autopatcher-x64-march-2007/#findComment-587010439 Share on other sites
gandolas
To select all the critical updates, you'll have to hit "Ctrl + click" in the "Select critical updates". This works for the other selections. To really see if they are installed, please go to Windows Update after rebooting your computer... Yes, i'll have to change the ActiveSync detection. CarlosB
So why do you have to hold ctrl, wouldn't it be easier just to click? :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/412735-autopatcher-x64-march-2007/#findComment-587012342 Share on other sites
akaladis Veteran Posted January 4, 2006 Veteran Share Posted January 4, 2006 If you don't hold down Ctrl, AutoPatcher will ignore installed and unofficial items. Since all modules are currently unofficial, it only works with Ctrl+Click. Because I would like to see that option for Non-Critical etc as well. These updates fail to install: I can't get them to install (Not with Ctrl + Click either). And as I mentioned before, when I click on something to install, it for ~90% not installing, like Java, Framework , Updates, etc. It is just not installing, when you see some of the components installing, it is just skipping them  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/412735-autopatcher-x64-march-2007/#findComment-587013760 Share on other sites
