Owen W Veteran Posted June 21, 2011 Veteran Share Posted June 21, 2011 Now make it with Windows Phone. Lol, kinda true. I just don't see why Nokia is making its own "competing" product. It's almost pointless.
liju
Finally a useful application of NFC. Tap your phone to the Nokia 360 wireless speakers and the music played on phone resumes through the speakers. Tap 2 devices to share anything. Ji@nBing
Is Meego good? It's so bad that they're ditching it for WP7, so it's got to be pretty bad...
Mohitster
No, MeeGo for Nokia N9 (MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan) I am not sure this is Meego! It seems like a Symbian^3 PR4.0 (Belle) Update....... [edit] My bad....just read the specifications....it is Meego!
liju
It's so bad that they're ditching it for WP7, so it's got to be pretty bad... Elop went with WP as the primary platform not because MeeGo is bad but because he feels he can create a bigger ecosystem with WP. According to him ecosystem is what matters more than the OS. Honestly I don't know what kind of strategy is it to give all your valuable assets to competitors in the name of ecosystem. I am not sure this is Meego! It seems like a Symbian^3 PR4.0 (Belle) Update....... It is MeeGo Harmattan with the new icons which first featured in Symbian Anna. They're unifying their design language & branding accross all their assets. If you look at the redesigned and rechristened Nokia Developer site you will see the design reflected in iconography throughout the site.

George P Global Moderator Posted June 21, 2011 Global Moderator Share Posted June 21, 2011 Nokia will relegate Meego to one or two crazy expensive highend phones a year while they punch out 12-15 (maybe more) lower costing WP devices each year. This was the same thing they did before but with Symbian. Also as nice as the Meego swipe to open app view is the other problem is support, dev support. Are the symbian devs going to switch over to this? Hell what's the programing language for this anyways?
