How to show Shared Documents under My Computer?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Does anyone know how to put a shortcut under My Computer? I am specifically interested in having a Shared Documents folder under My Computer as in Windows XP. (The Shared Documents folder that appears under My Computer corresponds to All Users\Shared Documents.) I have shared the folder All Users\Shared Documents, but would now like to see a shortcut to it under My Computer. Does anyone know what registry entries are required to enable this? Thank you very much.

I have Tweak UI but couldn't find any option pertaining to the Shared Documents folder. :(

If there is an option, could you please point it out? Thank a lot.

Very strange.

I already have the folder under My Computer in my Windows XP.

Do you have this key in your registry ?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}

Originally I didn't have that key in my registry, but while I was searching the web yesterday I found a reference to that particular key so I decided to add it. Unfortunately, it had no effect. :(

BTW, I should mention that I am running Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise).

Thanks for any help.
