I think (if its 32 bit / it doesnt matter if you're using 64 bit windows), its got a 3 / round 4 GB file limit. I came across a similar thing, editing a MP4 file (which was around 4 GB). With a 32 bit program. It did what your program did. It closed / quit (it didnt crash tho). When I was near the end of (editing) the MP4 file. So, I would say you need a 64 bit program, to convert / edit a file that big
