That looks pretty spiffy... I can think of a number of things I could do with one. :)

No joke, I was geeking out over the older, smaller version when I first saw it.. so many automation/appliance possibilities come to mind it would be hard to pick where to start. Plan on getting a dozen or so of the things once they finalize and release it, should keep me busy for a while.

Do you know what the specs are? I couldn't find them on the site. I was thinking you could slap one of these on the back of your TV with some Blu-Tack and make your own set-top box. :)

The older model specs (with some optionals):

  • 700MHz ARM11, 16KB Cache
  • 128MB or 256MB SDRAM
  • OpenGL ES 2.0
  • 1080p30 H.264 high-profile decode
  • Composite and HDMI video output
  • USB 2.0 dual ports
  • SD/MMC/SDIO memory card slot
  • General-purpose I/O
  • 10/100 Ethernet controller

Definitely a good possibility with streaming media yea. Was also thinking of a few with a CrystalFontz USB LCD panel in a custom enclosure for a few things as well, and a couple projects wouldn't be using a display at all but would be controlling external AC powered devices, some sending data back to a server, etc etc. A ton of possibilities.
