Jose_49
like I said, its marked as legacy and obsolete, although they need to keep the Win+R key but still take it to something that lets you type in command line esc commands like run did... but with the start menu removed now, how do you do that without going into command prompt Right click the left bottom corner, and click "run"
rorrr
Right click the left bottom corner, and click "run" if neufuse is talking about launching processes like msconfig.exe, msinfo32.exe or services.msc, you can still do that from the Start screen (or the Search charm). go to the Start screen and just start typing then hit enter. you can also open network shares. I believe all the run commands from Windows 7's Start menu still work in Windows 8's Start screen. Brandon H 1 Share
Nazmus Shakib Khandaker
You can type in RUN commands in the start screen. Alternatively, you can type RUN and hit enter to show the legacy run dialogue box.

Do I want to? No, not really. I appreciate that the option exists though.

devBrian
Then use a different background. No one is forcing you to use what you are using. The question is - why is it there? There's nothing "Modern UI" about it.

In the lower right hand corner, you'll notice a minus sign [-]. Click it and you'll zoom out. Right click on any group and below you'll see the option to rename the selected group. Enjoy!
