I now await the release of Mists of Pandaria which will hopefully only be a few months away.

Especially since they have just announced that patch 5.01 is going to be live on the PTR's for testing shortly.

I think I agree with the overall sentiment that Inferno is just not fun at all and currently unplayable.

I almost have Hell beat on my 2nd character, a Wizard, and I'm proud to say that I've avoided buying anything from the AH throughout. Its made the game far more interesting, especially on Hell.

I don't mind how hard Inferno mode is, but I wish that there was more item quality diversity that made its way into the easier difficulty modes. It seems like the only set items are in Inferno which sucks. I would like to see set items drop in Hell mode and would still like it if Legendary items were worth something. Also, I wish that the level of the item reflected the quality of the item better. Right now the stats on items vary too widely that an item that is level 40 may beat the pants off an item that is level 50 with the same type of stats the exception only being Armor level which is the only consistent thing that increases with level. Now, level-to-level there are good ones and bad ones, but I think that the variance on stats needs to be tightened up significantly as currently the item levels make little to no sense to me.

Inferno honestly isn't hard at all. The big difference here is the gear requrements. They are as big as the requirements of say, Normal to Nightmare between the Acts in Inferno. It is a bit of an overstatement that the classes can be played any way you want. Leveling up to hell that is true. In inferno, it comes down to being spec'd specific ways and playing specific ways. As you said though, 60-63 item levels are a bit of a joke. A high stat level 60 item can be much more power than a middle ranged level 63 item. However, I suspect that did this 60-63 scheme so they can do an expansion later on and still have breathing room for the levels.

I got my barbarian to inferno yesterday and as I suspect I got wrecked by the first elite I found.

Now this isn't surprising to me at all because I don't have all that great gear (for level 60). With the gear I've bought of the GAH since I got to 60 I destroy Hell mode, though. Just to test it I killed the Buctcher in about 10 seconds. So I'm just curious what I need to get him to stat wise.

I currently have:

25k dps

40k vit

220~ resists

41% crit

200% crit damage

Any recommendations on passives/builds and what my stat targets should be to make it through act 1 without having to avoid every elite/champ I see? I know a huge one is to get more gear with "all resist" on it but right now all the stuff that I could buy as far as that goes that would be an upgrade is in the millions of gold range.

Inferno is all about resistances and hp for the tanking classes. Most barbs and monks I play with that are good have over 50k hp and pushing 1200+ resists when buffed. They do less than 20k dps but since they don't die, it isn't much of an issue. It's my job as a DH with 65k dps to do the damage, but I can only take a hit or two before dying. Inferno was designed to encourage multiplayer as the dvd commentary/making off explains.

Gear -> skill

I honestly don't think the game is hard at all in inferno and what you just said doesn't change my opinion of that either. If you have good gear you can progress. If you don't, you can't. That's all there is it and that's why the best items sell for hundreds of millions (if not billions) on the AH.

If you were just "good" enough you shouldn't need the gear to progress through inferno, but as you said you generally need to have a specific gear set up and build to do that.

I'll keep playing D3 for a while longer farming gold and items in Act 1 inferno but I will probably get bored of it long before I'm able to make it through act 2 and 3. And that is a problem for D3. I said it a week or two ago that D3 probably won't have the game life that D2 has/had and that is turning out to be true just going on what people are saying in this thread alone not to mention other forums. I honestly don't think Blizzard can fix it though either with how they have set up the game unless they release expansions on a semi-regular basis. That means under 6 months otherwise people will get bored.

On the other hand I never saw D3 as a game that I would play for hundreds if not thousands of hours compared to a game like GW2 which I plan to sink thousands of hours into at this point. I'm not sure why people thought they would do that either.

I'm already bored of this game. It requires nothing but time and mind numbing grinding. There is no skill, there is no "learning" of the game. It's either you can or you can't, and it's all dependent upon the gear you have.

I've given up on this game until PVP comes out. Until then, its back to LoL.

Anyone have any decent Barbarian weapons and armor they want to sell on the cheap? I'm looking for an 1 hand 800+ dps weapons with strength and life on hit and/or crit damage, armor with high strength, crit, crit damage, etc. All those good dps barbarian stats.

i had a feature idea and i tried submitting it to the game's forums but it quickly got buried under people complaining about tomarrows patch fixing bugs no one cared about so i'll put this idea past you

Dynamic Character Swap

Permitting your other character can be in the same quest just have the ability to just dynamically switch when you feel like it

Let's face it. There are some elites that are more suited to melee and others to range, etc. So long as your already sharing your bank and crafters why not just allow people to switch their characters in game rather than having to go through the tedius process of logging out of your character, switching your character, and logging into a new game?

Feel free to add me, Se7en#1766 - I can craft legendary gear (including Helm of Command, Sage's Wisdom set (boots/gloves/sage stone), Hallowed Armaments set (shield/weapons), 6 stat rare bracers/chest pieces, Seven Sins shoulders, and more) :)

Has anyone had an issue where when you start up the game it will randomly be really laggy? I don't know what it's causing it for me. I can play for a while with no lag of any sort other than that wonderful rubber banding feature. Quit the game, then come back to it a few minutes later and the game suddenly feels like it's playing at 3 fps and using 100% of my cpu.

Restarting my computer fixes it but I'd like to know why it happens to begin with. I also don't think it has anything to do with my hdd, because the problem only appears to happen randomly. But once it starts I have to restart my computer to fix it.

My issue started after yesterdays patch. After I installed, every other time I launch the game, after it checks for the patch, I get an error message saying something went wrong and have to relaunch it again.

If anyone buys unid items, stop, there is a method that allows people to see the attributes of an item (not exact values of the numbers, only a range, but the exact attributes it has) without IDing it, meaning those using it can sell you all their unid that they know suck, and keep the good ones for themselves.

I was reading about that yesterday. It's amusing that all the reasons blizzard gave for having the game be 24/7 online are falling apart rather quickly.

As long as I can buy GW2 by playing D3, I will be playing D3 until I earn $60 then I'm done with it (already up to $30 and I just started yesterday evening, and I haven't even attempted selling my good items yet....my barbs main hand is worth 10-15m alone, that's at worst $18 after all the fees, not to mention the rest of his gear and my monk plus whatever I farm up over the next month).

Cool.

I haven't managed to sell anything on the GAH or RMAH in the last week or two, making me fairly sad. Since they let people buy gold in the rmah I think a lot of people have decided they aren't going to settle for the mid tier items that I've been able to find. It's kind of really irritating.

Item duping anyone?

http://i.imgur.com/Nwf0u.jpg

Scratch item duping off the is list of reasons why blizzard said we need an always online internet connection.

And then there is the 3x loot drop exploit, too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQdNnMH_vTE

I think it's safe to say that Diablo 3 is broken in just about every way that is bad, now. From botting, to duping, to scamming.. yeah it's got it all.

I imagine those issues are fixable. (And have nothing to do with the online requirements, they are simply game exploits.) In fact, the unidentified item issue may already be gone.

Come on now, the #1 argument people used before the game was released for why the game needed to have an 24/7 online connection was that it would prevent people from duping items or cheating the game. And the id issue is still in the game as of last night.

Blizzard paying users $5/day to speak well about Diablo 3

Heh, you might be reminded of the old 9/11 videos on Youtube and forums across the internet which had users posting backing up the government, making it seem as if they were the good people in such a horrific ?terrorist? attack.

Now I?ve gotten word that Blizzard have been paying users in underground forums which are mainly accessed by hackers, very rich people and what not, to post positively about the game. As for accessing such areas, well, not too easy, but definitely possible for anyone to do. Only you?d have to have a proxy and other tools to protect you from all the other nonsense that lurks such areas which could get you behind bars. Why would they advertise there? Well, finding things on the surface of the internet (pretty much our everyday internet use) is too easy, and that would only be used against them.

Granted there are players who do genuinely like this game, it is a clear sight that this game is hated by most of the old school Diablo lovers and anyone with half a brain who can see this is simply a game focused around the profit for Blizzard, rather than the fun and enjoyment of players.

Whether you believe this or not is entirely up to you. When a guy I know told me about it, I went over to his place to see for proof (as I cannot be bothered with all this proxy nonsense) and I can say I?ve personally seen it with my own eyes, with confirmation that users have been successfully paid and vouched for the service that Blizzard are offering.

Proof I cannot provide. If you understand exactly the areas of the internet to find these such trades, then you?d know that I cannot exactly ?screenshot? and upload them like normal areas of the internet. Do some research, you?ll understand what I mean.

Apparently they need to make at least 5 posts daily. By either creating threads and speaking positively, or replying to ?Diablo 3 hatred? threads on the forums to earn their whopping $5.

Is this game dying? Well, no. They?re still cashing in big time. The problem for them really is all about the reputation of the company. That for them, is dying. Rapidly.

Not sure of legit.. but if so, Ridiculous.

Nope, still there.....the only exploit is Blizzard sends the client attribute info whether the item is identified or not, the client simply doesn't display it to the end user (on the tooltip) while it remains unidentified.

The thing I loved about Diablo II and that style of game is finding loot. That's gone now though, the auction house has taken that away. Sure you can still find good items if you farm relentlessly for months at a time. I've gotten two characters through inferno and have found nothing but junk. The drop rate and itemization is just ridiculously terrible. I fail to see any point to this game, it just isn't fun anymore. It's pretty clear that Blizzard wants people to spend their money on the RMAH. This is really nothing more than a free to play game that happens to cost $60.
