There is a thread on the D3 forum talking about repair bill costs. Apparently breaking things in game like vases and barrels now damages your equipment. Break 2 barrels pay 100g repair bill. And blizzard had the foresight to nerf gold drops from those particular items too so breaking them won't even cover the repair bill costs.

Sounds like someone at bliz didn't think that change through tbh.

Looks like it's 45g per thing broken, just tested it.....0g repair cost broke 1 object and got 76 gold (in inferno mode), 45g repair cost.

So a net profit of only 31 gold, but not all objects drop gold, so unless you get decent gold drops you will lose money from breaking objects.

I have a feeling they will hotfix this by not reducing durability from breaking objects though, people tend to over-react when things go wrong and think it's the full intention of the developer for it to work that way.

More importantly, my friend can't trade with anyone right now......if I click Trade after right clicking his name, it says he is "busy", even when he just joined the game and is standing where he spawned......if he right-clicks a name he can't even click trade......if he drops an item, no one in the game see's it drop.....it sucks cause he has a belt I want, but we can't find a way to get it from his character to mine (without using the AH, but that's a risk of losing it).

So Blizz put the difficulty down in Inferno, but yet lowered everyone's DPS. So... IT IS STILL THE SAME. -.-, but you take more time to kill the enemy which is probably even worse than before.

Here is a look at how awesome Blizzard is for customer service... this happened to me :/

First a back story to the issue, the game freezing. For the past week, the game will randomly lock my computer if I open my characters inventory and click on an item. My PC is not overheating or anything, and this is just a random bug. I never had it happen while my stash was open, just my characters inventory. This freeze requires me to just cut the power off from the PC and reboot the computer. I had just purchased a ring from the AH for just $2.38. Wasn't much, and isn't much. Upon sending it to my stash and loading up a game to grab it real quick, something happened. I opened my stash, clicked on the ring, and boom, hard freeze. I was in a game all alone, ( wish I was with a friend, because then this wouldn't be a problem ) so when the game froze, and i rebooted to log back in, my current game session was no longer there. I logged in, and the ring was neither on my character, in my characters inventory, or in my group stash. It was gone. All because of a bug they haven't fixed. I then got online, submitted a support ticket, and heard this 2 days later.... They call it a "ill timed disconnect". And they closed the ticket after saying that I basically on my own, Dropped the ring I just purchased and instantly disconnected at the same time.... They treat us like we are mentally retarded.

**** using any real money. The money I used was from what I sold. But it's the principle of what they are doing. If they are doing this over such a small amount, I'd hate for anyone who actually spent a real amount to be abused by their system.

Don't spend any real money on this game further than your initial purchase. We also shouldn't be putting anything on the RMAH and just use the gold one. I'm not for giving a company money that is about covering up their mistakes and blaming them on users. We all know this game was rushed as could be, and they instead blame us for the problems and tell us tough luck. I have submitted this problem to the BBB and T.A.G. I couldn't care less about the money, but agian, it's the principle of the matter.

Yeah I never ever thought about using the RMAH. I only use the GMAH. Well now I even can't, ... no income from the game. TBH, the game isn't fun anymore.

It was fun when I was to be able to actually have a running income. As I said, they just want you to die more now in the game. Everything leads to a dead end. Example : Blizz makes inferno a bit easier, then lowers your dps (even harder because enemies which took as long to kill.. take more time to kill) Take more time to kill leads on to more chances of you dying. With dying, armor is easily broken and you gold bank account goes easily down the drain. Without Gold, you cannot repair and you cannot play the game because you can't deal any damage and so forth and so on.

Ya, I did a run last night, which I would normally make around 200k. Only made about 100k, due to repair cost. I only died 2 times as well. But I'm still hitting repair bills in the 9k area from just punching and taking punches. Me and my friend Box ran through all of act 1. Normally, that would net a easy 200k or more, but not anymore.

They are trying to make this as unfun as possible.

Thats sucks that so many of you are having so much trouble with the new patch :(

I, and my friends, are experiencing a different situation. We were farming champ packs in act 2 last night for about 3 hours. Spent about 200k on repairs but sold about 1.2 million worth of gear and we each found eachother about 2-3 ilvl 63 upgrades (pretty good considering we already each have ilvl 61 gear and up). One of the guys found a legendary ring that sold for 8 million in about 20 minutes.

Same here. Not sure how people die so much but I have noticed in most public games I have been in, most players are really that bad. I think putting a real downside to dying will make people better players. I keep ending up in groups in inferno where people insist on skipping elite groups using tricks that involve dying. Wish they would have made that change from the start so we wouldn't have so many bad players so far into inferno already.

I still can not handle past the sewers in act 2 for some reason... I am a monk, have 55k of health 560 resist to everything, but right now due to the IAS nerf, I am down to around 12k of damage, using a 1 hand wep that does 802 DPS and a shield. There are just some mobs that destroy me instantly in act 2, that I can't get passed in the sewers. I'm at a loss, because I can't see how to get past this area, and nothing is dropping for me to be considered as an upgrade. I've been stuck at this same spot now, for the past 2 weeks... And doing act 1 runs over and over and over and over are not letting me make any headway.

Like I said... all these changes are designed to get us to spend money on the RMAH. Blizzard devs aren't stupid but they sure do think their customers are.

Pay 2 win in it's most blatant form.

What annoys me is I spent 400k for a good monk weapon, then found a replacement in act 1 inferno that gave me about 2k more dps with more life on hit and similar attack speed. Trying to sell my old weapon for 350k so I don't use too much on it. As far as repairs go yes, they are tons higher. I used to spend about 2-3k on repairs after deaths, now deaths cost 10-20k, and just normal running through an area costs 2-3k from equipment degradation on attacking/being attacked. I still make money but any time I die more than once on a mob (like invulnerable shielding molten arcane enchanted), I just leave the game and start over.

Best place I've found to farm is Act 1 inferno the spider cave. It has 2-3 small chests and 1 large (resplendent chest), and tons of enemies that are generally pretty easy to handle (more enemies = more chances for a good drop), can't handle act 2 at all yet, and I can't find a better place to farm in A1.

But I don't play my monk much any more, playing a wizard and its a lot more interesting.....gotta be more careful, dodge a lot more things, but I kill things so much quicker and from range. Not to mention I am almost lvl 30 and haven't bought a single piece of gear from the AH, and doing as well as my monk and barb.

I'm not having troubles, I'm just annoyed at the fact about the lowered DPS and they are nerfing everything players begin to like about the game. I was totally fine with farming gold and purchasing armor on the GMAH so I can continue. But now, you really can't. Like I bought a Windforce bow which was awesome untill yesterday's patch. So pretty much I spent that amount of money on something I didn't need to if it was going to revert back to my old dps. I also read MF is completely useless now. :s For DH, NT is nerfed and your weak survivability grows a lot weaker especially in Inferno. Also found out if you farm in the Dank Cellar, the creatures now actually attack you.lol. Blizzard is covering all known exploits.

I'm a DH, and weak survivability? We can go invisible/invulnerable every other second for as long as we have Disc? Which with added Disc is about 5 times in a row. We have 6+ slowing abilities... not sure about the concern about survivability.

I think the disconnect here is that people are expecting to blow through inferno without much effort. And using overpowered stats and skills is not the intent. I cleared inferno because NT and IAS were wayyyy overpowered. Now it feels like a challenge again, and I embrace it. Are champion packs destroying you? Are normal mobs destroying you? Then you are attempting content above your gear and/or skill level.

Nobodies forcing anyone to RMAH. I never have and never will spend any more money on this game until an expansion. A group of 3 of us got ilvl 63 upgrades last night from Act 2, and a ton more to sell.

People want instant satisfaction, and ignore the fact that farming is THE PURPOSE of Diablo. And to them, having to spend more than a day/week/month farming to progress is out of the question and they put pressure on themselves to consider the RMAH. Nobodies forcing you but yourselves. Farm gear (AKA play the game).

So I'm at 9k dps, 9k armor, 700~resist in all, and 740 LoH. All good stats, except, I'm only at 26k HP. Need to keep all the stats the same, and up my HP significantly. Having trouble in Act 2, mainly due to a low amount of HP. I'm also at the point of need to get a higher block %. (barbarian)

No what I meant was less dps for weapons that will take forever to kill the monsters... pretty much still a threat untill they are dead.

Anyone else looking forward to Torchlight 2's release amid all the D3 rabble? I was in the TL2 beta but I didn't play it much because I went on vacation,, but now after getting over the "new game smell" that D3 had, I am looking forward to TL2 releasing. Don't get me wrong, I had my fun with D3, and I'm not quitting, it just won't be my primary game while they fix all the issues with it. One major thing someone on another forum brought up, is D3 offers no reason to make more than 1 of the same character (outside of the achievements), the way the skill builds work there are really only a few viable choices.....certain skills are almost required in inferno for every class, if you are not using those skills you have to have better gear than someone who is using those skills. There is 0 build variety compared to D2 and other games.

Beyond skills, itemization is completely broken. You have primary stat, vitality, and 2-3 other stats that ALL classes use (resistance, attack speed, etc), and that's it. Other stats are just not viable.

Think about it......in D2, on a sorceress you had orb sorc, meteor orb, hydra sorc, lightning sorc, nova sorc, etc, and they were all viable......in D3 you have blade wizards (spectral blade), and a few minor variations (changing things like the primary attack, or some of the secondary skills), but you have generally less than 5 optimal builds, anything else won't work well at all until you're way over-geared for the area.

Despite Blizzard's efforts to create more class variety with the skill/rune system, they have removed most of the variety that D2 had. Instead of having full builds that play completely differently, you have minor skill variations that play almost the same.

Seriously though, different builds that all work and are limited (you can only reset them a certain amount of times, or similar to D2 before the patch that allowed repsec, you can't reset them at all), gives much more replay-ability than being able to swap out skills/runes on the fly and having all the same gear work for any build you can do.

Can honestly say I'm not having that problem. There are quite a few viable builds for both of the classes that I play, and a couple different ways to look at stats. There is the glass cannon mentality, and then there is the slower (but less frustrating to me) defensive stat stacking. On my Witch Doctor there are three different builds that I swap between depending on what the situation calls for, and this is still a new game, so other stuff will be found. D2 didn't become the mess of viable builds at launch, or even right when the expansion pack came out. Right now people are still figuring out the best ways to get through inferno and we're not really at a point where we can just indiscriminately mow down any champion pack that pops up. Once more people get to that point you'll start to see builds diversify.

I too was in the TL2 beta and I'm not really looking forward to it, not while D3 is still providing me with entertainment. When the excitement of D3 wears off for me I'll do a full run through of TL2 and I encourage anyone who is already sick of D3 or burned out on it to do the same, but don't expect it to be the answer to your problems as D3 is kind of Diablo 2 Lite and TL2 feels a lot like D3-lite.

I think my biggest complaint is that some champion packs in Inferno are pretty frustrating and pretty hard to skip. I don't really want them to tone them down though, I don't want inferno to get too easy, I just wish it was difficult in a different way.

Most classes have an offensive build and defensive build and only one major build for each, with minor variations depending on the scenario. There is little to no variance in how the builds play when comparing different builds of the same class, it's almost always charge in and fight in melee using Build A, or run around kiting using Build B.
I too was in the TL2 beta and I'm not really looking forward to it, not while D3 is still providing me with entertainment. I disagree, TL2 felt more like D2 than D3 feels IMHO.
I think my biggest complaint is that some champion packs in Inferno are pretty frustrating and pretty hard to skip. I don't really want them to tone them down though, I don't want inferno to get too easy, I just wish it was difficult in a different way.

That's one thing that really annoys me, I can't recall any moment in D2 where I felt mobs were impossible to kill, many times i have ran into a group of enemies that were, for my character type (melee or ranged) flat out impossible to kill unless I was overgeared for that area (like shielding vampiric molten arcane enchanted on a ranged mob).

I think Blizzard took Diablo 3 in the wrong direction, opting more for min/maxers (in that min/maxers are the only ones who will easily be able to do some content in inferno, and you are almost required to min/max at least a little to do inferno in the first place) rather than promoting viable different builds and gear sets. They have stated "If you can do act 1 inferno with an offensive build, act 2 should be do-able in a defensive build".....sure, well sorry, I don't like being forced to play defensively just to get past some of the game, the skills, stats and gear should be diverse enough that I don't have to constantly change skills to do stuff.

Another thing I hate is the removal of runewords and "oskills" from D2......sure I understand it may come later in an expansion, but they have already tested both mechanics in D2, no reason they couldn't carry them over to D3. One of the major things about D2 was how gear can make or break certain builds. Like Whirlwind sins.....not possible without runewords, but it adds a unique gameplay element because to use it you MUST use a certain piece of armor....but the point is things like that add to build diversity, allowing people to use standard skills in unorthodox ways.

My point is to me, D3 doesn't feel like an expansion to D2, if you took the name off of them and put them on the same graphical engine, I would think that D2 came after D3. My RL friends who play feel the same way, they all feel that D2 was better for it's time, than D3 is.

[Update: Bear in mind this affects the DIGITAL version. If you buy boxed retail, you'll be a'ight in Blizzard's eyes. Not that it makes it better at all.]

As part of its latest endeavors to combat thieves and cheats, Blizzard will be forcing new digital Diablo III players into a 72-hour Starter Edition trial before letting them play the full game. This "review" period has been established to "combat fraud and other malicious activities that can weaken everyone?s play experience."

The Starter Edition of the game allows users to play up to the Skeleton King boss battle, reach level 13, and play co-op with other Starter Edition users, albeit not globally. Access to the Auction House is prohibited until the "review" is complete and the full version unlocks.

Blizzard did say that, although 72 hours is the estimated time, the process can end sooner. OOH, FINGERS CROSSED!

Ladies and gentlemen, I do believe Diablo III's online shenanigans have now entered the glorious period known as the, "Complete and total farce" era.

Source: http://www.destructo...de-229905.phtml

And I thought Blizzard couldn't screw players more. Well, they sure proved me wrong!

I hate inferno at the moment, the only way I would be able to get through elite packs would be to kill them 1 at a time and keep ressing. Now with the higher repair bills its almost not worth playing. I'm not having fun anymore.

For the past week or so I've had packet loss (very little mind you, but noticeable) and while I can play most games online with nary a hitch, D3 is just unplayable...at least in Hell mode for me. On my DH I am on Belial and I just can't get past the 3rd stage because of the PL issue. I obliterate him first stage, do pretty good second stage, and third I get wasted usually instantly lol It's quite infuriating to say the least.

I called Comsuck and the "tech" I spoke to didn't know what PL was and just kept saying "lag" and "disconnecting issues" which I don't have. Sigh. I have another tech scheduled to come out here Saturday, so we'll see what happens if it doesn't clear up on it's own (which I keep hoping it will).
