ericsson
You can but it's not easy. You're going to have to hack some files. I got rid of the Address label on mine. I reshacked browselc.dll and cleared out the Address string. ring0
editing browselc.dll has always been a pain in the @$$ for me. i'll remove the Help option, and Tools will cease working  likewise if i try to make a customized menu - it never works like it should or appears to in reshack Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/102865-customize-explorer-file-manager/#findComment-1187981 Share on other sites

Imperfect63
oh now this is odd. i was modding browselc.dll to get rid of the address label, but somehow i made it so it'll actually display the show/hide menu bar option and it works. however it doesn't remember this setting next time i open explorer file manager so i have to right click and hide menu bar again. also i can't seem to find where to clear out the address string label in browselc.dll. if anyone can give me a pointer i'd be grateful. update: nevermind, I found it. Strings 807 change 12902 to "&" below is a shot of what my computer looks like now: Edited September 27, 2003 by Imperfect63 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/102865-customize-explorer-file-manager/#findComment-1200369 Share on other sites

Imperfect63
heres mine.go to http://wint.virtualplastic.net/ for guides on this kinda stuff ah, so theres the guide. yeah, i downloaded a modded browselc.dll and saw what that person did. its pretty much same as that guide, but that guide only modifies the menubar, not permenantly hide it. i can hide it but i wonder how i can force it to stay hidden next time i start my computer. i can always just right click and hide menubar but that seems to be a hassel. there's gotta be a way to keep this setting. i wonder where values/settings for show/hide address bar, links, go button, etc.. are stored for explorer. is it in registry?
