Any of you fellows know if the Collectors Edition is supposed to be a limited run, or do you think there will be a ton of these after the fact? I'm debating on pre-ordering it but if it's not a limited run, I may just wait. Thanks!

As far as I know most places have stopped taking pre-orders for awhile now. Talk to your local gamestops about walking in and getting one on release day due to canceled orders.

As for this DLC it could have been finished after the game went gold. Studios aren't going to sit on their asses doing nothing. There comes a time when they have people that need something to do, hence release day DLC becauses these studios are just this big. Also am I going crazy or does this DLC come with the CE?

It only comes with the CE, otherwise you have to pay $10 for it.

Wow, I think a lot of people here are missing the point with the whole DLC thing and missing some quite key points.

1. Bioware have already quite clearly stated that the DLC was started after the main game.

2. The main game is about the reapers. Not the prothens. Anything with that race would be an offshoot.

The sense of entitlement from some of today's "gamers" really sucks. If Bioware have put in some time and effort into creating content over and above the main game, surely they deserve to be compensated for that. Especially given the amount of DLC they have given away for free.

Alas, it seems that releasing DLC which tightly integrates into the game and conveys a meaningful addition to a single player game rather than sucky stand alone ones (like ME1, for which it looks like BW learned a lesson) gets mistaken for cutting key content they cannot complete the game without.

The only thing I can see this serving is to make companies think "why bother creating such good extra content if all we get is abuse and bad press".

Some of these keyboard warriors need to get out more :(

Bioware said something, so you automatically believe it? Did you know the PC demo of ME3 contains Prothean speech files and it's actually quite an old build.

Those "keyboard warriors" are the people who actually try to keep the companies from abusing the customer to no end. If there was never an outrage over such stupidity, they would automatically take it as a green light to implement worse and worse methods of exploiting the players.

I do not, for a second, believe that there was any other team creating it nor that it was created after the main game was complete. It's merely damage control from the Bioware PR trying to make their cash cow attempt somehow look something that it isn't.

Bioware's cash cow? This stinks of EA's doing :p

Guess what position the Bioware head honcho now holds at EA? That's right, Senior Vice President - so it's as much Bioware as it is EA.

This is much alike Activision and Blizzard. Everyone says Blizzard would never do something like selling ponies for 20$, it must be Activision - except it's 100% Blizzard. Same here, this is 100% Bioware.

Just played the original today. It reminded me of how awesome the game was back in 2007 and still is (Y)

One problem I am having, didn't had it before.

After the second council meeting at the citadail, I head towards the armory man, or whatever he's called, as adviced by the Ambassador, and then back to Normandy, where the Captain tells the Sheperd that he's the captain now.

After I am in the ship and done with talking to the crew, I went to explore the galaxy map but it wont open.

Is there something I am supposed to do before opening it?

I am stuck here. There is no option of it. Nothing. Just when you are about to reach the stair thing in-front of it, the pop-up appears but when I get close to it it disappears.

Any help would be extremely appreciated. Its too frustrating.

I don't exactly remember how I got past this issue first, but now its getting on my nerves

Oh for crying out loud. I'm all for DLC in games, and I particularly don't care about the cerberus DLC we got with ME2 (both points TotalBiscuit made in the video) as I think its a clever solution to the problem of second-hand sales, but this is out of order, and it's the second time Bioware have done it in... what... 12 months if you include Arrival.

I'm half-contemplating boycotting the game now. It's the second time in as many years that I've boycotted a game now, the Games industry is going down rip-off alley now :(.

What was the other game you boycotted?

To be honest I don't see what the fuss is about this day 1 DLC but maybe that is because we pay here ~AUD$88/~USD$94 for the game. Secondly, I got the N7 Collectors Edition on order so this DLC is free for me anyway. Finally to me it sounds more like self entitled gamers bitching and moaning about what they think they are entitled to and assuming BioWare deliberately cut the content out and is trying to cash in on it is totally absurd, considering it's a free Collections Edition bonus that is made available for a fee to everyone else. You don't like it? don't buy it, it's not critical to the story and nobody is putting a gun to your head saying you must buy it.

1. It doesn't affect you therefore you couldn't care less whether this is unethical or not? Nice.

2. Apparently, it is vital to the story You obviously didn't bother to watch the video above.

I was making the argument that devs and publishers would start ripping out important or vital aspects of the story and charging us extra for them in the Kingdoms of Amalur topic. I saw this **** coming a mile away. This is not cosmetic bull**** that can be ignored, it's taking out important story and plot aspects and selling them separately. it's not an issue of letting the market decided whether a piece of DLC is worth your money, it is saying "if you want to completely understand the story of this game you have to pay a premium." It's bull****. it isn't optional in the traditional sense.

Some people are being nauseatingly naive about this whole issue.

I'm with totalbiscuit, unless EA/Bioware change their tune, I'm not buying it.

so is everyone stoked for the upcoming release? i gotta say i'm excited, but this time the advertising is really much. the previous two, and especially ME1, still had more of a faux-indie feel to them with almost no marketing. this one is all over the shop.

GAME not stocking Mass Effect 3 or EA games past SSX

GAME has issued a statement to Eurogamer in response to the retailer's decision not to stock Mass Effect 3, blaming it on a "supply issue".

"We currently have a supply issue with regards to Mass Effect 3, which means that GAME and gamestation will not be able to fulfil orders for Mass Effect 3 at this time. We want to give customers as much notice about this as possible and provide them with a range of options ahead of launch.

Certainly looks like it could be...gameplay just merged into gamestation as well...I'm guessing because of poor sales...this is another nail in the coffin...

I can understand "supply" issues with a game...but to say ther're not going to stock any future EA games is silly.

They're probably are the biggest game published in the world...just taking a quick look on my shelf, most of my games are either EA or Micorsoft game studios (as most of my games here at Uni are xbox games, PC ones mostly have no cd cracks)...tho a huge ammount of my PC games are in the EA folder...so yeah EA is my biggest publisher.

What happened here is when Game lost its credit insurance with the banks, it had to stump up cash up front on a title by title basis. Obviously this is not a workable solution given their financial state, and the number of titles and the amount they had to plough into the Vita release, so they met with publishers and tried to work out credit terms on a publisher by publisher basis.

From what I gather EA are one of the few not playing ball by meeting 'reasonable' credit terms so they've decided not to stock (or rather, don't have the cash up front to stock) the new releases. It is a sad day, it is in EAs and everyone's business for Game to be supported when they really need it. It would be a real bad day if Game, and especially Gamestation go down the pan.
