uniacidz
Thanx Khujo for the posting of your scores. No doubt when the true 64bit drivers come out then there will be considerable differences. Cheers

zivan56
It would be nice to see these test in a 64-bit OS and app, these are just 32-bit test scores.
Ironman273
Well, in the interest of more information on the AMD64, Gamer's Depot has an article reviweing the new Pentium 4 EE, and they compare it to the AMD 64. I know it's no Prescott, but informative none the less. Edit: And excuse my un-1337ness in my previous post.

Khujo
Once i can get some 64-bit apps to try you know the first place i'll be to show some results. Maybe theres a 64-bit UT2003 patch floating around :D

Ironman273
oh yea good stuff. i'm still impressed with the 7fps gain. no really. From the GD article: Comanche 4 is extremely CPU bound and shows it here - keep in mind that even 5 frames per second in this benchmark is a huge performance leap. So you're not alone. :D ;) :p
Spyder Veteran Posted October 8, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 8, 2003 thats why i was saying i'm impressed! i have a feeling some people have assumed i was being sarcastic
Jason
I stand corrected, after installing Windows XP 64-Bit on the machine it plain hauls ass, its an amzing difference, 4000 extra 3dmark01 points, 1000 additional in 3dmark03, 7 fps more in Comanche 4 Benchmark, and all these are just 32bit apps, its like night and day difference. You are benchmarking a 64bit Chip and OS with a 32bit benchmarking program, that is slightly flawed. Ultimately you need a 64bit benchmarking prgram to do it correct. Khujo
Jason I know its a bit flawed, but those are the results i got. This is purely informative, not scientific. I don't run a big site. Im just posting the benchmarks and stuff i get a chance to run during my spare time at work. It is what it is, i know I haven't seen 64-bit versions of any gaming benchmark, have you? If so give me a link and i'll gladly run them. How many major sites did windows based benchmarks with 64bit gaming apps? Zero... I'll look for an AMD64 Optimized DivX codec, but i'd still have to use a 32bit app to do the encoding. I guess i can encode a vob on my machine and do a comparison of the times. Spyder: sorry for reading sarcasim into your statment when it was genuine, my bad. (Any recommendations/suggestions or pointers to benchmarks that people want me to run just let me know) Complete Specs on System are: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2100Mhz (Mem @ 210Mhz) MSI K8T Neo 2x512 PNY Verto PC3500 WD Raptor 36GB SATA (no 64-bit sata drivers tho) WD 200GB 7200 8MB (winxp32bit drive) Seagate Baracuda 40GB 7200 8MB 40GB (WinXP64 drive) ATi 9800 Pro TDK 4x DVD?RW and Memorex DVD+CDRW 48x24x48x16 Edited October 9, 2003 by Khujo

Khujo
I work in the techshop and get to build a new machine whenever new stuff comes out, to answer the question i don't NEED it but if no one complains when i build them why not :D we put them on display infront of the techshop to show what we can build if you don't want to buy the ...ahem... garbage off the floor. to show we have an alternative to the sorry a$$ HP/Compaq and Emachine BS that infests the store shelves.
