.mov repair - Which software gets this job done? I found one, but...

Question

Heya guys!

Unfortunately I have a couple of *.mov's on my HDD that are broken.

They don't even play in VLC and .mov is a bit** to repair, I know...

I found a solution to my problem, as it SEEMS (still not 100% convinced by the 50% repair per file demo mode):

http://grauonline.de/cmsimple2_6/en/?Solutions:HD_Video_Repair_Utility

HD Video Repair Utility seems to be quite good actually (and heck, I'll take ANY software here, be it Windows, Linux, Toaster 98 or (bonus ahead, saves me a reboot :D) Mac OS X)

The catch?

The price!

100 bucks plus VAT.

Uhm, yeah! I know file recovery is nothing that you get on cheap when it's professional, too, but this is too steep for me...

Any alternatives?

Or anyone willing to sell his license (if that is ok with their license, idk, I haven't read it...)

Also feel free to PM me, as I'm busy doing other repairs and gathering duplicates atm.

Not looking a lot at Neowin as of now and a quick response would save my day and nerves! :D

Thanks for your input already!

Here's a solution that works for me whenever I have to do with corrupt video files:

1. Download and install PotPlayer or try the portable version.

2. Load the corrupt file into PotPlayer , right click -> Video, -> Capture, -> Video Capture.

3. Record and save your video.

It doesn't support the FX35 by Panasonic, so that program is a void pick.

Contacting support as we speak, maybe they'll add it later on.

Still, the application is even more expensive. lol

(129 bucks, you linked to an unofficial site by the way... Unofficial site + program that want's administrative privileges, hell no!)
