How to get My Computer and Network on Desktop in Windows 7 Home

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am running Windows 7 Home and i'm wondering how do I get My Computer and Network icons to show up on my desktop? Most of the guides say to right click on desktop and go to appearance, but my Windows 7 doesn't have that option.

Right-Click, "Personalize". On the left bar under "Tasks" is "Change Desktop Icons". Options will be there.

Unless your running Home Basic or Starter, then its not.

You can try then clicking your Start icon, then type "icons" on the search bar. You want the option for "Show or hide common icons on the desktop" once the search is complete.

Ninja edit. :shiftyninja:

Im running home basic. So the personalize option isn't there. Is there any other way? registry hack, etc?

Re-read my original reply. Try my second option.
