He pointed out the possibility that they killed it in order to protect livestock and other people. Those are two VERY different things. While we don't have crocs where I live, we do have gators, and every year there is a state sponsored hunt in order to keep the population down. This is done in order to protect people who use the local waterways for fishing and recreation. Gator meat is good eating as well, and actually much healthier for you than some other types of meat.
