It didn't create an icon for me. If you cannot just throw it in the recycle bin maybe you can turn it of in Personalize. (I'm in W7 right now and cannot reboot ATM.) In Windows 7 the desktop icons are located in desktop context menu>Personalize>Desktop Icons

I refresh my desktop (right click->refresh) and now the icon disappears. However, when i restart my computer the icon pops back up for a few min before disappearing again
