Y'know, it really seems to me that Microsoft is copying Apple a bit in the UI department with this latest Longhorn build. Yes, I know that this is by no means final and it's two years away yadda yadda, but still...take a look...

Compare the folder path in the bottom of this image (OS X 10.3) to the one at the top of this image (Longhorn, drag URL to Address bar). Coincidence? Doubt it. MS has used a slash since DOS. Now they've suddenly changed to an arrow after nearly 20 years. Uh huh.

And we all know how much Apple users love Brushed Metal (not). Seems MS has adopted (adapted?) a similar style for this Longhorn build (drag to Address bar).

There are other things, like MS *suddenly* becoming concerned about blocking popups (or couldn't they take the heat from practically every other browser?). And judging from the lack of them, it appears (without me testing it) that user will be able to drag and drop different menu items to toolbars, even *folders* maybe? What's next? Spring-loaded folders? Drag-install programs? A dock?

Kill the newbie! Kill the newbie!

I am an XP user, although not for much longer. It'll only be a week or two more...
