BoneyardBrew Member Posted September 8, 2012 Author Member Share Posted September 8, 2012 2.3 - Download Description: There are a ton of changes in this release so I encourage you to go out and find them all. This release is not complete in my eyes but I don't want to hold on to it any longer now that another Steam update has broken the skin. revanmj 1 Share
articuno1au
You're an absolute champion. I'm looking forward to 2.4 when you get time >.< As others have observed, you have just made this better with each release (a noteworthy achievement indeed). EDIT:: Was looking through some of your other deviations. I particularly love the Aero+ theme. If ever you choose to take a swipe at W8 in the same fashion, make sure you tell me so I can install it :o EDIT2:: Did you make the banner for the steam group or is it auto generated? The Aero+ theme isn't his, that's one of his favorites. I do agree it's a pretty good theme though. As for 2.3, I've already commented on it before it was released. YES! Guest
While I'm not a big fan of Windows 8 / Metro I really think that this is the best steam skin out there, you really created a pleasant to look at client and everything just fits perfectly. It's amazing! Great work on the skin BoneyardBrew and keep it up! :D

As Excelsis mentioned, Aero+ isn't mine. I've never released a Windows theme but I have done some concepts. I put the group avatar together with the Steam icon Auroka shared with me. The wall of avatars is a standard group feature with the new community. Finally installed this skin on Windows 8. Loving it so much. :) I'm happy to hear that! :) It feels nice with Windows 8. articuno1au
2.4 looks great. If I might just ask, what's the difference between the "Stable" and "Beta" files?

BoneyardBrew Member Posted November 19, 2012 Author Member Share Posted November 19, 2012 2.5 - Download - Changelog In celebration of this release I made a landing page for the skin. It was done weeks ago but losing power set back my schedule. Check it out here! Also, if you really enjoy using the skin I would appreciate it immensely if you were to donate. Any amount will do, and I could put it towards my next iced coffee! :) trag3dy 1 Share

BoneyardBrew Member Posted November 19, 2012 Author Member Share Posted November 19, 2012 How do I apply this theme? just copy & replace everything into the Steam Directory? Be sure that it extracts to its own directory (Windows 8 - 2.5) and then put it in the skins folder located in Steam's root directory. Once that's done go to Settings - Interface from Steam and select the skin from the drop-down menu. djdanster 1 Share

J_R_G
I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I unzipped it to \steam\skins\metro, so there is a steam\skins\metro\resource\styles\steam.styles file, but it doesn't give me the option to use the skin in the settings of steam, just list 1 option, 'default' for skins. I tried upgrading to the steam beta, still no go. advice please?
Guest xiphi
Looks great, but what about the background images in the default library view, any plans to add those?
LittleNeutrino Veteran Posted November 22, 2012 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2012 with the latest release i have noticed some issues with the friends list (this is the only release other than the very first one released on neowin that i have used. There is a down arrow AND a gear on the top left for settings. also it just looks strange, not sure if it is intended.
BoneyardBrew Member Posted November 22, 2012 Author Member Share Posted November 22, 2012 2.5.5 - Download - Steam Group Post I was going to release these changes as a part of 2.6 but there have been complaints of the details view sidebar being far too small so I decided not to wait. The changelog is below. :) Also, a sincere thanks to anyone who has donated so far. It means a lot. Changelog: General: Redesigned Filter Buttons to have hit regions as large as their hover and pressed states, changed spacing 1px Aligned CheckBox Image with Text Details View: Re-added Screenshot Backgrounds Fixed Install Button Hitbox Larger SideBar Moved Game Hub Contribution Count to Right-Hand SideBar Downloads: Fixed Search Filter Style and Positioning Screenshot Manager: Fixed Spoiler Tag Positioning I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Make sure you've put the skin in "Steam/Skins/*Skin Name*", and not "Steam/Steam/Skins/*Skin Name*". I know this is rather basic but it's an easy mistake to me. Looks great, but what about the background images in the default library view, any plans to add those? I've re-added them in 2.5.5. with the latest release i have noticed some issues with the friends list (this is the only release other than the very first one released on neowin that i have used. There is a down arrow AND a gear on the top left for settings. also it just looks strange, not sure if it is intended. It looks like you may have overwritten the files in Steam's root directory, as that appears to be a combination of the default and my skin. If it turns out this isn't the case I would delete the skin entirely from the skins folder and put a freshly downloaded copy in.
