freak180
I want to know how many of you guys use a controller with your tablet and which ones do you recommend? I own a samsung galax 8.9 and I am interested in trying it out with a bluetooth controller. I seen this app up on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&feature=apps_topselling_paid#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLG51bGwsImNvbS5kYW5jaW5ncGl4ZWxzdHVkaW9zLnNpeGF4aXNjb250cm9sbGVyIl0. But I thought PS3 controllers are already bluetooth when I came across this listing on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PS3-DualShock-3-Wireless-Bluetooth-SIXAXIS-Controller-Crystal-Transparent-Red-/320873405966?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item4ab58b9e0e#ht_6002wt_1398 Please any help would be helpful. TheBlueRaja
I've got a Xoom and i just use a USB host adapter(couple of $ on ebay) and plug my Xbox 360 controller into it - works a treat. I then use an HDMI cable to plug into my telly, SNES gaming has never been so much fun... The ONLY problem is that i cant get 2 player on this, but i think i can also add a Wiimote with Classic controller as a bluetooth device which would probably work for 2 player Mario Kart. Each work on their own, Just not tried them together yet. Salty Wagyu
The Sixaxis Controller app on Android market works very well, have been using it in Gameboid and Gensoid. You can use the compatibility checker beforehand to check if your PS3 pad can communicate to your tablet via Bluetooth. https://play.google....tibilitychecker Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1066668-gaming-controller-with-tablet/#findComment-594762456 Share on other sites

If I can get it to work without rooting than I would try it. Dick Montage
But I want to avoid rooting my device. Why? And I think if you want to talk to hardware in such a way you will need to root! freak180
Why? And I think if you want to talk to hardware in such a way you will need to root! Well I had to send my tab in for service repair for something else and I just dont feel like risking it if the rooting process went wrong. TheBlueRaja
Well I had to send my tab in for service repair for something else and I just dont feel like risking it if the rooting process went wrong. Hmm, well every single Android phone i've had (Desire, S2 and Xoom) can be returned to stock quite easily. Your missing out if you dont root mate (if only to rid yourself from the plague of advertising) and its so easy to do usually. I had my Xoom rooted begging for mercy and running a custom ICS ROM within an hour of having it. Closer to home for you my Samsung Galaxy S2 has had endless ROMs loaded on it and i've never been in a position where i though, thats it, its bricked. My advice though, if you do root it, get a recovery mod on there like clockworkmod (this is usually something that comes as part of the process anyway) and as soon as you get into it, do a backup, that way you can always go back to that point. freak180
But what exactly are the benefits to rooting? And if I manage to break the device does that mean there is no way of going back to the stock rom or what?
