Ryne
After my successful build of my PC a few months back with the help of Neowin, I'm back to get some help about TVs. I've done quite a bit of reading on the AVS forums about TVs, and I need a bit of help narrowing down my selections. I do have some requirements for TVs: 37-47", less than 5ms response time, 1080p. I'm looking to spend around 800 Canadian max, so 3D isn't necessary. I do have some TVs that I have scoped out beforehand: LG 42" Class 1080p LCD TV (42LK450) - 448 LG 42" Class 1080p LCD TV (42LK520) - 598 Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz LCD Smart TV (LN46D630) - 749 Sony BRAVIA 40" 1080p 120Hz LED Smart TV (KDL40EX621) - 749 Samsung 40" 1080p 120Hz LED Smart TV (UN40D6000) - 847 I'm not completely sold on any of these choices so I'd appreciate any other suggestions. Thanks a lot! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1068980-looking-for-a-gaming-tv/ Share on other sites

robert_s
Note that Samsung TVs have only one HDMI input that is suitable for PC display, and that must be properly named(!) for a correct display. Otherwise, the TV will alter the colors displayed, sometimes very terribly. Some discussion in English here: http://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2412 And some in German, but with test pictures showcasing the undesired effects here: http://www.hifi-forum.de/index.php?action=browseT&back=1&sort=lpost&forum_id=151&thread=21652 This seems to happen with _all_ Samsung TVs.
