Here's a weird one, and I can't determine if it is an Airserver or Plex App (iOS client) bug. My girlfriend has the Plex iOS client on her iPhone 4, and it otherwise works perfectly. What we are having trouble with is using Airplay to stream her shows to her Macbook using Neowin's AirServer. I know this works because I can do it on my environment at home. Keep in mind we are not attempting to Mirror here.

We both have iPhone 4 devices. We are both running Plex iOS client (v 2.3, build date 2012-04-03 09:45:23). We are both running AirServer 4.2.1 (licensed copies). We are both running Snow Leopard (hers on a Macbook Air, mine on a MacMini).

I can successfully open the Plex client app on my iPhone, load a movie or a TV show, and after the content starts playing, successfully select the MacMini from the Airplay item on the Plex Client playback control menu. And my content will play while my phone will simply display the dark grey screen and the information that it is airplaying.

My girlfriend can do all of the exact same steps, only her Plex client will not attempt to stream after she selects the AirServer on her MacMini, and instead falls back to the show listings. As we are not in the same location right now, I am unable to cross-troubleshoot the devices.

The only variable between these two set-ups is that her iPhone is running newer Apple firmware (iOS 5.1 9B176) than mine (iOS 5.0.1 9A405). Is it possible that the newer Apple firmware broke this functionality? Is anyone out there with an iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1 able to Airplay Plex iOS App Client content to a MacOS computer running AirServer? Is there a way to review the AirServer logs on her MacBook to see what is happening on that end?
