Tangmeister
The screenshot says it all. In the "Learn more" part, it does tell you how to do it manually, although I am disappointed that they are making it so hard to get extensions out there without the Web Store for most other users who wouldn't have read the Learn More part. What are your thoughts on this? I think it'll make it a lot harder for developers who don't wanna fork over the $5 fee to register on the CWS. Oh, and I find it odd, since they're working (see about:flags) on deploying .crx-less extensions that can be installed straight from a site without the .crx download. Disappoint Chrome.bmp
+Zlip792 MVC Posted July 2, 2012 MVC Share Posted July 2, 2012 Workground: To fix this you have to start Chrome with the --enable-easy-off-store-extension-install command line flag.

Added in main, along with the search issue from earlier thanks https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1088483-/unread/ is there an announcement about why 3rd party extensions were blocked? Singh400
Just download the CRX to your desktop, open the extensions page, tick developer mode. Then drag & drop the CRX onto that page. Done ;)

Done ;) Well I think checking "Developer mode" actually wasn't necessary in my case, if my memory serves me correctly.
